Safety Centre

OpenWeeknight gives you tools to manage who can contact you, protect your information, and report behaviour that does not feel right.

A safer community depends on all of us. Take your time, trust your judgement, and look out for yourself and other members.

1

Take your time

You do not need to join in straight away. Read the conversation, get a feel for the tone, and speak only when you feel comfortable.

You can leave a room, stop following a conversation, change your settings, block someone, or stop replying at any time.

2

Protect your personal information

Keep personal details private. Avoid sharing your home address, exact location, passwords, verification codes, bank details, or government identification.

Be careful with travel plans, private family matters, intimate images, and anything that could put you or someone close to you at risk.

3

Know what private means online

Public rooms may be seen by many members. Post only what you are comfortable discussing in a public setting.

Private rooms and Direct Messages limit who can see a conversation inside OpenWeeknight. Another participant can still copy, screenshot, or share what they see.

Private conversations are not end-to-end encrypted.

4

Use your privacy and blocking controls

You decide who can contact you and which profile details other members can see. Review your Privacy Settings from time to time.

Blocking stops new Direct Messages between you and that member. It does not remove messages already sent, and you may still both appear in the same public room.

Do not use another account or another person to continue contact after someone has blocked you.

5

Report a concern

Use the Report option when a message, member, room, invitation, or conversation may break the Community Standards.

Explain what happened clearly and accurately. Reports are reviewed by the OpenWeeknight team before a decision is made.

OpenWeeknight may remove content, restrict features, close a room, warn a member, suspend an account, or permanently remove an account when necessary.

6

Spot scams and pressure

Be cautious if someone asks for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, banking details, verification codes, or personal documents.

Take care if someone pressures you to move to another app, creates a sudden emergency, offers an unusually easy opportunity, or makes you feel rushed, guilty, frightened, or confused.

Do not download unfamiliar software, open suspicious links, or share your screen with someone you have just met.

7

Meeting someone offline

Take time to get to know someone before meeting in person. OpenWeeknight does not verify that every member is who they say they are.

Meet in a busy public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, arrange your own transport, and keep your phone charged.

Leave if anything feels wrong. You never owe someone more time simply because you agreed to meet.

8

Keep your account secure

Use a strong password that you do not use for other services. Keep the email account linked to OpenWeeknight secure as well.

Never share your password, login link, verification code, or account recovery information.

Contact OpenWeeknight if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
